| Here is some of my Theatre work. |
Over the last two years I have been purchasing gear with very specific needs in mind. I am currently at an impasse, but here is what I have so far:
>Canon XTI: This is a good intro digital camera for a beginning photographer. I am thoroughly happy with it's features and probably won't replace it for some time.
>ef 50mm f/1.8 II: For being the cheapest lens you can buy from canon, this lens is amazing. This is the lens I use most often when I'm out shooting, mostly because I like to shoot at full open. I also use this lens for shooting head-shots. Most of the images in my gallery are shot with this lens. A while back this lens broke, and I had to have it repaired, so I'm looking to eventually upgrade to the sturdier f/1.4.
>ef 85mm f/1.8 USM: This is my newest lens. It is used mostly for my portraits and head-shots. It has a nice solid build and feels good on the camera. All of the History Boys pictures were taken with this lens.
>efs 18-55mm f/3.5-5.5 (kit lens): For the Most Part, this lens is crap. I occasionally get decent photos out of it, but more often than not, I don't. So it usually lives in the bottom of the bag. This is the lens I use when someone asks me to take a picture of something I really don't care about. You know, those times you switch into program mode and let the camera do the work for you... I don't think any of the images in my gallery are shot with this lens.
>ef 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM: I actually got this lens a while back, but was never really able to use it to the best of it's ability due to my lack of a good tripod. But recently I haven't had this problem and this lens is getting some good stuff. This :Warehouse 30: was shot with this lens.
>Canon Speedlight 430ex Flash: Welcome addition to my pack. This flash has mostly come in handy when shooting head-shots. My favorite feature is the swivel, which is very useful for on location shooting (which is every shoot for me until I get a studio).
>Canon Battery Grip: If you don't already have one, buy it!
>Bogen Manfrotto Tripod and Ball-head: I've been needing a new one for a while, and I wanted to spend around $100 on one. Well, after doing some research, I spent $250 on these: tripod, ball-head. They are awesome, and they allow me to pretty much put my camera on the floor and still maintain stability.
>Wireless Remote: I inherited mine from Zack Keller, and find it absolutely essential.

I <3 my friends..they are the only ones that can have a conversation involving amphibious Duck Boats, and it leads to violently taking over Boston Common.
